Honda GB350 Makes Its Way to Australia

In October 2020, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) introduced the H’Ness CB350, marking their entry into the modern-classic segment in the Indian market. This model was highly regarded by motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide for its refreshing take on the tech-focused modern-day motorcycle industry.

Initially, the H’Ness and its sporty sibling, the RS, were exclusively available in the Indian market, leaving the rest of the world longing for this charming, classic-style roadster. However, in 2021, the H’Ness made its way to Japan and was renamed the GB350, paying homage to Honda’s GB500 thumper-powered cafe racer from the late 80s. Now, Honda has listed the GB350 on its Australian website, expanding its availability to a new market.

Although the price is currently unavailable on the website, Australian publication AMCN reports that the GB350 is priced at $6,999 AUD (approximately $4,600 USD). The specifications of the Australian model are expected to be identical to the Japanese version. The GB350 is equipped with a 348cc, air-cooled, OHC, single-cylinder engine with modern electronic fuel-injection for reliability and efficiency.

While Honda does not provide specific power figures on its website, it is known that the GB350 produces 20 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 21 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm. This power output makes it suitable for both beginner riders and experienced riders seeking a capable and stylish commuter.

The GB350 embraces simplicity, foregoing the extravagant features of other modern motorcycles. Its design reflects this simplicity, featuring cafe racer-inspired aesthetics such as a round LED headlight, a "vintage-style" muffler, chrome components, and a brown pleather upholstered saddle.

To comply with modern regulations, Honda has incorporated some technology into the GB350. It comes standard with front and rear ABS, and an assist/slipper clutch to enhance its user-friendliness for beginners. The new GB350 is available in two color options on Honda's website: Matt Pearl Morion Black and Matt Jeans Blue Metallic.
