MoveOS 4: Ola Electric Launches Update for E-Scooters

Electric mobility has reached new heights with the integration of modern technology. Ola Electric, a leading innovator in e-mobility in India, has recently released MoveOS 4, an update that sets a new standard for the capabilities of its two-wheelers.

MoveOS was first introduced in 2023 and was designed to be compatible with Ola Electric's main offerings: the S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1X. The software underwent beta testing with over 50,000 users before its final release. Now available to all S1 scooter users, the MoveOS 4 update brings a plethora of new features to Ola's already impressive scooters.

New Features and Functionality

MoveOS 4 introduces over a hundred new features, with the most notable being a redesigned user interface that allows users to quickly access frequently used features without leaving the navigation screen. The scooters now come equipped with dedicated Ola Maps, offering enhanced security services such as "Find My Scooter" and the ability to share location via the app. The new system also allows for customizable travel experiences tailored to individual needs and preferences.

In addition to the revamped user interface and enhanced security, MoveOS 4 provides users with a more automated experience through AI-powered Indicator Control. This includes features like hill descent control, cruise control, and tip over and fall alerts for added peace of mind. Other features include geofencing and time-fencing parameters, hill hold control, proximity unlock, biometric lock, and passcode recovery.

For users with multiple Ola scooters, such as those using them for business or sharing them among family members, the new "Garage Mode" allows for easy management of multiple scooters through the Ola app. Metrics like charging time predictions and regen stats help owners optimize their scooters' performance. Additional features include "Care Mood," which displays savings and emissions reductions, and "Concert Mode," which turns the e-scooter into a rolling jukebox with matching strobe lights. Lastly, Ride Journal keeps track of important ride data and presents it in an easy-to-read format via the smartphone app.

Technological Advancements

With these new features, Ola Electric's S1 scooter is considered the most technologically advanced and feature-packed EV offering in its class. The Ola S1 X starts at Rs 89,999 (approximately $1,083 USD), while the top-range S1 Pro is priced at Rs 147,000 (approximately $1,768 USD).
