Swedish Electric Mobility Brand Cake Introduces the Bukk Electric Dual Sport

Cake, a Swedish electric mobility brand, is known for its commitment to preserving the joy of two-wheeled transportation while driving innovation in the future of mobility. With its award-winning models like the Osa and the Kalk, Cake has established itself as a major player in the mobility sector. Now, the brand takes a step further with the introduction of the Bukk electric dual sport, which has recently started deliveries in select markets.

The highly anticipated Bukk combines roadgoing practicality with impressive off-road capability, marking Cake's entry into the popular dual-sport segment. The first shipment of the Bukk, including Limited Edition models, has already begun deliveries, and full-scale production is scheduled for spring 2024.

When it comes to performance, the Bukk sets a new standard for lightweight e-enduros. Weighing just 196 pounds, Cake claims that the Bukk offers the perfect balance of lightweight design, all-terrain durability, and reliable performance. It is equipped with Cake's "Jante" motor, an Internal Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor with a torque rating of 456 Nm (337 pound-feet). With this impressive power, the Bukk can accelerate from zero to 28 miles per hour in just 2.15 seconds.

In addition to its powerful motor, the Cake Bukk features a lightweight chassis and fully adjustable suspension available in two packages: WP and Formula. This allows riders to customize their riding experience based on their preferences and budget. The bikes can be configured for off-road use only or for both street and off-road applications.

Cake's founder and CEO, Stefan Ytterborn, expressed his excitement for the launch of the Bukk, stating, "Establishing a new category takes time. I feel encouraged to see that the market starts to adapt and understands that the future of riding is lightweight. With the Bukk platform, we're bringing unmatched light electric performance into the hands of our riders, creating so many new riding opportunities and setting the next chapter in lightweight electric off-road motorcycling history."

Testimonials from riders like Mike Giese, the 2022 Cake Worlds Champion and former professional motocross racer, further support Ytterborn's statements. Giese shared his experience with the new Bukk, saying, "The new bike was quite the experience. The added power and increase in suspension created a brand-new riding experience. You could go faster, jump further, and ride the new bike on larger tracks. The geometry and ride felt closer to a motocross bike, further closing the gap between the Kalk and a traditional motocross bike. I am very much looking forward to seeing people's reactions to this new bike."

Like all of Cake's innovations, the Bukk comes with a significant price tag. It is currently available for pre-order and customization on Cake's official website, with a hefty MSRP of $11,070 USD.
