On January 16, 2024, GoPro and Forcite Helmets announced that they have signed agreements for GoPro to acquire Forcite Helmet Systems. The deal is expected to close in Q1 of 2024.

According to their statements, the teams will continue working together. GoPro intends to enhance the performance and safety of various types of helmets, starting with motorcycle helmets. They also plan to develop their own line of helmets and partner with other leading helmet brands to drive the industry forward.

GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that it presents a long-term growth opportunity for their business. Forcite also expressed excitement about joining forces with GoPro to scale their businesses and innovate together.

More details about the acquisition will be shared in GoPro's upcoming earnings call in February.
